Hello,
I’m just back from 6 days in Rome! I’m stuffed full of pasta, gelato, delicious wine, and good cheer and have so many things to tell you about!
I went with two newer friends, and we framed it as a “pilot trip” to see how we work as travel buddies (happy to report the trip was a smashing success!). We picked Rome because we were looking for an easy direct flight from NYC, and eliminated quite a few places based on (1) weather and (2) places any of us had been recently-ish.
Also, so many people with taste I trust have been taking extended or repeated trips to Rome—my friend
spent a month there the past two summers; , who writes one of my favorite travel newsletters, relocated there; one of my best friends is a Rome aficionado, visiting or passing through what seems like every year—and I was curious about the hold the city has on all of them. And after spending 6-days there, I get it. It's a friendly, happy city full of great food and even after almost a week, it felt like we hadn’t scratched the surface. But let’s get to what you came for, the recs:
