The Husbands was such a surprisingly deep read with such easy, breezy romcom writing. Truly cannot recommend it enough - I’m going to be thinking (and talking to my therapist) about it for a loooooong time
Long time BOP listener, first time commenter! Lots of thoughts haha:
1. I love the "Who's this for?" line in every rec. It's consistently so creative and genuine, always makes me smile even if the book may not be for me!
2. My TBR pile is toppling over with the abundance of book recs from you, and I'm a 100% here for it.
3. My Lady Jane was a really good watch, would highly recommend! I'm miffed that they aren't renewing it for a second season.
4. The casting for People We Meet on vacation is A1, makes me excited to watch! I'm optimistic that the adaptation will be as good as the book.
5. Curious if you have read/ would recommend any of these books: James by Percival Everett, Sandwich by Catherine Newman, and Adam and Evie's Matchmaking tour? Sorry if I've missed reading/ listening to your reviews of these elsewhere!
5) I added James to my TBR this week and I also shared the synopsis with my dad to justify buying it (I gave him a Kindle last Christmas and it’s set up as a Kid’s Kindle so my husband and I can load it up with books we think he’d like)
He immediately asked when I would be buying it because he wants it now (said like Violet Beauregarde)
I loved Sandwich (I immediately sent it to my mom after reading) but would check trigger warnings (abortion is heavily discussed). I've heard from friends that James is amazing!
Basically beat all my friends over the head with The Husbands after I finished it a couple months ago - so, so good! Also very much appreciating the upcoming releases and book to screen news in these posts!
Want to add Intermezzo to your list of September releases! And cannot wait to read Blue Sisters, sounds like it will ruin me but in a good way! And this was the push I needed to buy Real Americans!

You always have such fun lists! As a former book columnist, I know how tricky it can be to make book coverage engaging but you do a wonderful job!
Karin! THANK YOU. What a high compliment.

Yay:
1. I'm so glad. I find it such a fun challenge to come up with them!
2. As I always say (have said once), if there's not smoke coming off your library holds/TBR/bookshop.org cart, I'm not doing it right
3. Eh, I don't feel compelled by it, but maybe once the weather gets colder and I feel more desperate for shows I haven't seen.
4. Ooooh, glad to hear!
5. I have not read any of those but James and Sandwich are both on my list to get to this fall. I know Grace Atwood really loved James.

I keep seeing The Wedding People everywhere! Definitely a sign I need to pick it up.
You do! Report back and let me know what you think if you read it!

Glad you're enjoying them! Music to my ears.
Thank you! I’ve added to my tbr list 😂
Thank you for all of these wonderful suggestions and news.
Loved Wedding People!! I found myself laughing out loud while reading it on the plane — excited to check out these other picks!
I've just purchased Real Americans as I've heard really great things about it. Sounds like a really interesting read.
Let me know what you think!
I thought it was good, the writing and the story, but I must admit, not memorable or emotionally engaging.
Re: People We Meet on Vacation. Watch a compilation of Tom Blyth on TikTok or YouTube. You can thank me later 😘
I really need to read The Husbands, it seems like everyone is loving it!
You do! It felt so original!
Regretting You is good! From what I recall, it's less spicy than her other books and more family centric/coping with grief.
I’ll prob give it a whirl sometime before the movie comes out. I honestly love a Colleen Hoover - no one does pace quite like her!
Great list. I’m currently reading summer sisters. An oldie but still good for this late summer vibe.
I've never read that! A good backlist one for me to read next summer! I'm already onto fall in my head.

Agree, The Wedding People was exceptionally good. Fluffy, but for grown ups.
Thanks for the recs! I added to my TBR list 😊
