God of the Woods was just SO good. A masterclass imo. I hesitated because I wasn’t sure it was going to be for me but I was wrong: it hooked me in right from the start! Really enjoyed All Fours, too!
OK, I'm actually so glad to hear you say that because I haven't read God of the Woods yet either. Similarly, not my norm. Also slightly worried it's too scary for me? But all this hype is just making me so curious!
I consider myself a certified Scaredy Cat™️ and I did not think The God of the Woods was scary at all! Slightly spooky at most. I was not aware of the hype going in but I really enjoyed it!
I read these in the opposite order and ended up quitting Wellness about 35% through…I just couldn’t find myself caring about the plot of characters. But God of the Woods is a FAB summer read with the sleepaway camp vibes!
I put my ARC of All Fours in my little free library two weeks which gets quite a bit of foot traffic and so far it is just languishing (in comparison I put One-Star Romance in there one evening and it was gone by the next day at noon). At least in my little pocket of suburban NC it doesn’t seem like an “it” book of the summer
I read The God of the Woods in the Catskills this past weekend and wow. DEVOURED. I'm usually not a thriller reader but read this in two days + into the wee hours. It has my vote for Summer 2024 book!
God of the Woods was wonderful, the rare mix of great plot and great writing, but Wedding People has my heart. If you are in your 30s or 40s and on a road less traveled, it really struck a chord! I felt like I’d just gone for a great swim in the ocean once I finished it.
I have the Owala 40oz and ponied up for a larger cup holder since I drive a lot for work. Nothing (and I mean nothing) thrills me more than filling my second bottle and knowing I am a very hydrated queen 👸
Margo's Got Money Troubles is my pick for book of the summer! It's been a long while since a book has stuck with me so much post read. Funny, clever, and touching.
Gosh, these are all winners! All Fours is one I am still thinking about weeks after reading the last page, God of the Woods was the perfect escape, and I’m currently reading (and loving) Wedding People. We’ve been book blessed this summer.
I loved Margos Got Money Troubles. It's MY book of the summer.
Yes, if we're going personal rankings not collective vibes, it's my book of the summer (year?) for sure. Totally agree.

Okay, I’m (finally) reading Wellness right now but after that, it’s God of the Woods. It keeps popping up and I’m feeling FOMO, in a good way.
I bought it the other day when a credit from Amazon was running out bc I couldn't wait for the libby hold bc FOMO is real.
I, too, am delaying on it, but can't last much longer against the hype!

Oh wow! Languishing feels like the perfect word for it by what I know of it!
Book of the Summer: Sandwich by Catherine Newman!
Oh yes... this could for sure be another contender.

I just declared The God of the Woods my book of the summer! It was just really smart AND fun
All Fours and God of the Woods (just finished) take the cake for me!
I need to read All Fours. Jury's still out on God of the Woods. You know my taste better than most, will I like it??

I just felt like Phoebe especially was so real. Like, we became friends during that book...? Is that mad?
Slow Dance by Rainbow Rowell is my summer book pick 💕

Also, Wedding People is 3rd on my TBR (I just started Majority, than BOP Book Club One Star Romance, and then Wedding People)
What a good reading month you have in store!
Summer Romance has been my fav of the summer
Oh... this is another contender that I somehow totally forgot about despite LOVING. I feel like I need to text Annabel my apologies!
The God of the Woods started off really great and I was hooked, but the ending fell flat for me. I was really disappointed.
All Fours was fabulous! Loved every minute of it.
I wrote about both in my August Wrap-up so they’re my votes for books of the summer 😊
Excited to check out both and see what I think!

A true gem. I want to go back and read the author’s past books now!

I’m only 100 pages into God of the Woods but The Wedding People was definitely a smash! 🥂
